Middle School Language
Curriculum, aims to create a
love for, and a knowledge of
the Hebrew language and
Hebrew literature as an
instrument of expression of
our culture, beliefs and values.
The objectives are:
1. Expansion and enrichment
of students' Hebrew
vocabulary.
2. Progression in the four
communication skills of
reading, writing, speaking
and listening.
6th Grade - Literature:
* The Jewish Holidays
* Respect for your Fellow man.
* Amongst friends the world
of teenager.
* The beautiful legends about
King Solomon.
* Jerusalem - The Eternal City.
6th Grade - Grammar:
* Structure of the verb, the
Pa'al verb in all tenses.
* The singular and plural,
feminine and masculine
pattern of the Hebrew noun.
* The Hebrew Preposition.
7th Grade - Literature:
* Jewish Holidays
* Between man and man
* Childhood and maturity
* Following the roots:
a) The Shtetl -Eastern
Europe community.
b) Yahadut ha-Mizrah - The
Sepharadic community.
* Longing for Zion - in poems,
prayers and stories.
7th Grade - Grammar:
* Introduction to Binyanim in
all tenses.
* The Hebrew Sentence
structure.
* Declension of prepositional
phrases.
8th Grade - Literature:
* Jewish Holidays
* Between man and God.
* Parent-child relationships.
* From a dream, to a State.
* The struggle for peace -
Israel's long years of war
and longing for peace.
8th Grade - Grammar:
* Review of end conjugation
of the active Binyanim in all
tenses.
* Conjugation of passive
Binyanim and
common "gizra" of (verb
pattern).
* Review of nouns (plural,
singular, masculine,
feminine), Adjectives,
Declension of nouns.
